Laney Bell

Laney Bell is a pen name for Nancy Campbell Allen. Laney writes contemporary romance/romcoms, and loves setting her books in a fictional Rocky Mountain ski valley, which is (not so) strangely similar to her own home town. Laney's books are "sweet" in terms of sexual/violent content and are best described as PG rated.

Owning a shop in Fairfield Landing's Village Square is a dream come true for Alice Reed. Becoming a single mom overnight was not part of her plans. Her sister has left her six-year-old daughter, Candee, in Alice's care, and Alice doesn't know how she'll manage. She adores Candee, but she's in way over her head. It's not like she's totally alone, though. Handsome school counselor Jack Monroe offers to help at the shop, and he has a great rapport with Candee. He's thoughtful and funny and so hot he practically melts the ice in Alice’s shop. Too bad he's only in Fairfield for the summer.

When Jack accepted the Fairfield sub job, he had no idea he'd find himself falling for the pretty soda shop owner. He's not staying. Sure, he’s spending all his free time with Alice and her niece, but he's not staying. He's only there for a few months, and then he'll begin the career he really wants. Why does he have to keep reminding himself that he’s not staying?

Alice and Jack both know what they want, and they know how to get it. So why does success look like a losing game? Can they adjust to the unexpected changes in their lives and discover how sweet love can be?
