Owning a shop in Fairfield Landing's Village Square is a dream come true for Alice Reed. Becoming a single mom overnight was not part of her plans. Her sister has left her six-year-old daughter, Candee, in Alice's care, and Alice doesn't know how she'll manage. She adores Candee, but she's in way over her head. It's not like she's totally alone, though. Handsome school counselor Jack Monroe offers to help at the shop, and he has a great rapport with Candee.
